Reckless Love is a Finnish glam metal and hard rock band formed in 2001 in Kuopio, Finland. Originally known as Reckless Life, the group began by performing cover songs of Guns N’ Roses before shifting toward writing their own material and eventually adopting their current name in 2004.
The band gained early recognition after winning the Kuopio Band Competition and participating in regional touring projects across Scandinavia. In 2007, lead vocalist Olli Herman temporarily joined the Swedish band Crashdïet before returning to Reckless Love, helping solidify the group’s direction and identity.
In 2009, Reckless Love signed with Universal Music Finland and released their first singles, including “One More Time” and “Beautiful Bomb,” which performed well on Finnish radio charts. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2010, reached number 13 on the Finnish charts and marked the band’s breakthrough into the mainstream rock scene.
The band continued building momentum with their second album, Animal Attraction (2011), which entered the Finnish top 10 and featured popular singles such as “Hot” and “Animal Attraction.” In 2013, they released Spirit, followed by InVader in 2016, further establishing their reputation for energetic glam metal inspired by 1980s rock.
After several years of activity and touring, Reckless Love released their fifth studio album, Turborider, in 2022. The album introduced a more modern sound with strong synthwave influences, while still maintaining the band’s signature glam metal style.
Throughout their career, the band’s core lineup has included Olli Herman (vocals), Pepe Reckless (guitar), Jalle Verne (bass), and Hessu Maxx (drums), alongside earlier members such as Mike Harley and Zam Ryder.
In 2024, drummer Hessu Maxx left the band, and Reckless Love announced a hiatus as members focused on other musical projects. Despite this pause, the band remains recognized as one of Finland’s most notable modern glam metal acts.
