The legacy of Twisted Sister will continue on stage in 2026 — but without its most iconic voice.
After announcing his retirement from performing due to health issues, legendary frontman Dee Snider has confirmed that he fully supports the decision for Sebastian Bach, former singer of Skid Row, to lead the band during a series of special live shows later this year.
Snider, now 71, revealed that degenerative arthritis has made it increasingly difficult for him to maintain the explosive energy that has defined his performances for decades.
“I’d rather step away before becoming a shadow of what I once was,” Snider admitted.
Far from controversy, the veteran vocalist made it clear that Bach is the perfect choice to carry the torch.
“He’s a true fan and will honor what I did at every show.”
The special lineup will feature Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda on guitars, Russell Pzütto on bass, and Joey Cassata on drums.
The shows will take place on selected dates this fall, and organizers emphasized that the collaboration will not interfere with Sebastian Bach’s solo touring schedule, which remains unchanged.
Interestingly, both Bach and Cassata are longtime fans of KISS, a band that historically had a complicated relationship with Twisted Sister — including public exchanges between Dee Snider and KISS frontman Paul Stanley over the years.
Despite that history, the new lineup represents an unexpected chapter for a band that once said goodbye to touring. With Snider’s blessing and Bach’s unmistakable voice, Twisted Sister appears ready to rock once again.
As Cassata enthusiastically wrote on social media after the announcement:
“I’ve been an SMF since I was eight years old… and now this?! Absolutely surreal. You can’t stop rock and roll!”
