Interview with Killcode
- Killcode has a very distinctive sound within today’s rock scene. How would you describe your style to someone hearing you for the first time?
NYC hard rock at the core, with a bit of southern groove and melody. Big guitars, strong hooks, and some grit. Heavy, but still feels like songs.
“Heavy, but still feels like songs.”
- The band started as a project between Tom Morrissey and Chas. At what point did you realize Killcode had the potential to become something bigger?
Once the right lineup came together and we hit our groove with our songwriting .
- You shared the stage with bands like Godsmack and Sevendust in your early stages. What did you learn from those experiences?
How to own a stage and make people feel it. No faking it…either you bring it or it shows.
“No faking it…either you bring it or it shows.”
- You reached #2 on the Mid-Atlantic Heatseekers chart by Billboard, a list that highlights the most popular emerging artists in your region in the United States. What did that achievement representin the band’s growth?
Validation. It showed we were connecting outside our scene and circle. Gave us momentum and something real to build on.
- Your music has been featured on platforms like The Howard Stern Show. How important has that kind of exposure been for your growth?
Big. It puts you in front of a whole different audience. But you still have to deliver…exposure only gets you so far

- You have worked with Joey Zampella, guitarist of the band Life of Agony and a producer recognized within the Brooklyn scene. How did his vision influence the development of Killcode’s sound?
Joey’s from the same world we are. He helped tighten everything up without changing who we are. Just made us sharper.
- Killcode has built a solid fan base performing across the United States, Europe, and Latin America, including Mexico. What differences do you notice between audiences in these regions?
They all hit different, but the love’s the same. The U.S. crowds can take a minute, but once they’re in, they’re in. Europe always shows up ready from the first note and Latin America is just full throttle
“Europe always shows up ready from the first note”
“Latin America is just full throttle”
- In Ride (High Roller Remix) you collaborated with DJ Johnny Juice, a DJ and producer associated with the hip hop group Public Enemy. How did this collaboration come about and what motivatedyou to reinterpret the song in this way?
We got connected with DJ Johnny Juice through our drummer Rob Noxious. We’ve all been big Public Enemy fans forever, and we sent him Ride when it dropped because it just felt like something he could really put his stamp on.
That track already had a great groove and vibe, and we knew Johnny could take it somewhere different. He brought that raw, old school hip hop feel into it, and it just clicked. It felt like a natural extension of the song, not just a remix.
- From the perspective of a band active on the international scene, how important do you consider the role of specialized rock media, such as Glam Hard Rock, in maintaining the connection betweenartists and fans, and helping new audiences discover your music?
Still very important. Real rock fans know where to go . That support keeps the scene moving and helps people find us.
- What’s next for Killcode in 2026 in terms of new music and live activity?
New music and more shows, for sure. We’re writing now and getting ready to record the next release with Jabbath Roa, who co-produced our last single One Trick Pony. We’re also lining up shows as we speak.
- For those discovering the band through this interview, which song would you recommend as a first introduction and why?
Ride. It’s got the groove, guitars, the hook and the attitude.

Killcode remains at a key point in their trajectory, combining experience, consistency, and a clear vision of where they want to take their music. With a solid international base and new releases that reflect their evolution, the band continues to move forward steadily within the scene.
As they expand their sound and global presence, Killcode proves that their proposal remains relevant, connecting with both long-time fans and new audiences.
